ESSEN SPIEL PREPARATIONS
We prepare a couple of prototype copies for Essen Spiel since the game is still under development and will be delivered next year but this is a good chance to play some of the Plots of the game. We will demo the game during all the days of the fair at Hall 3 - Stand 3-O103:
1) Squirrel Raiders: In this Plot you do not use the Black Fortresses, the Crab and the Dark Player. However you can use the Bonus Town Cards. Also you can use the Buildings if you want to make the game a little easier. You will choose as many players as the Active Realms (1 player per Active Realm). You can play this Plot with 4 and 5 Active Realms so with 4-5 players. Make sure that you choose Heroes where their Talents vary between them and at least 1 of the Heroes must have Gold as part of his/her Talents like Siegfried or Egypt Prince! No matter the Active Realms you choose, 1 of them must be always the Fairy Forest. When the invasion marker reaches No7, you roll the Area Die for each Active Realm, to determine where you will place the Squirrel Nest in each one. Then you place 1 Squirrel Token in each Area of the Realm (including Town) except the Area where the Nest has been placed. Last you roll again the Area Die to place one of the two Dark Lords in an Area. You can challenge that Lord freely and defeat him if you can. When the Invasion Marker reaches 16, the second Dark Lords appears. The winning condition here is not to defeat the Dark Lords but to capture the Squirrels in each Active Realm and lead them back to their Nest. If you do that to all the Active Realms, then you win the game. If the Invasion Marker reaches No20 even in one of the Active Realms, you all lose the game.
2) Pantheon Path: This Plots applies to all the Realms but you must always use Olympia as one of the Active Realms. It's recommended to play this Plot with 5 or 6 players. In this Plot you use the Black Fortress, the Bonus Town Cards, the Buildings, the Promo Invaders the Pantheon Cards and the Pantheon Building. The Realm of Olympia hosts the Pantheon Building. Roll the Area Die in order to determine where the Pantheon will be placed and set aside the 12 Pantheon Cards face down. Winning Condition: Two of the players must collect 1 Artifact from each Realm including Olympia that hosts Pantheon and enter the Pantheon. Do note: The Artifacts the players will collect must be different! When a player enters the Pantheon with the 5-6 different Artifacts (depending the Active Realms), stops playing, so be carefully and organize a good strategy in order to win the game. The Dark Lords still appear in each Realm as you already know when the Invasion Marker reaches number 16. If the Marker reaches number 20 even in one of the Realms, then you all lose the game.
3) Pyramid of Time: This Plot applies to all the Realms but you must always use Nile Valley as one of the Active Realms. It's recommended to play this Plot with 5 or 6 players. In this Plot you use the Bonus Town Cards, the Buildings, the Pyramid Building, both Dark Lords, the 10 Tablet cards and the 30 Pyramid cards. Before the game begins set aside the Tablet Cards. Shuffle them and draw 1 card for each Active Realm and place it next to the Invasion Track face up. If you play with 5 Realms then you will place face up 5 cards, one card next to each Realm. All these Tablet cards together form a spell that you must trigger. Each Tablet card has a number on it. To activate each card you must move the Invasion Marker on the equivalent number on the track. When you activate a Tablet card, you flip it over in order to remember that this Realm is locked meaning you do not have to face further any Lords or Invaders in that Realm any more. If after you lock the Realm there is still any Treasures or a Building you can still claim the Treasures or buy a card. The winning condition here is to active the Tablet Cards before the Invasion Marker reaches 20 even in one of the Realms. Place the Pyramid Building in the Nile Valley Map after you roll the Area Die to see where is going to be placed. Next to the Pyramid set the 30 Pyramid Cards after you shuffle them and place them face down. When a Hero is on the same Area with the Pyramid, can draw 1 Combo card for FREE, at no cost. You can draw only 1 card per round plus you choose only 2 Heroes before the game begins and these Heroes only can draw cards from the Pyramid and pass them to other Players so they can active the Tablet Cards. This Plot requires a solid co-operation and strategy among the players.
We hope we can see some of you at our booth. Once more thank you for choose to play our games.
